Service

What is Service?

All of the efforts of Narcotics Anonymous are inspired by the primary purpose: to carry the message that an addict, any addict, can stop using, lose the desire to use and find a new way to live. Service can be simply attending a homegroup, participating in it's business meeting, volunteering to chair or greet people at the meeting, sponsoring other addicts or attending service committees. Everyone is welcome at any service committee meeting and there is no clean time requirement to attend.

Why should I get involved?

We can only keep what we have by giving it away. In our Basic Text it says that "Our survival is directly related to the survival of the group and the Fellowship". We have also found that service is an integral part of personal recovery in NA and allows us to receive the full benefits that this program has to offer.
